How to reset multifactor authentication (2FA) phone number

Change the phone number used for 2FA authentication

To ensure that the most secure solution is provided to the customers, Multifactor Authentication (MFA) is enabled. This is a specific authentication method which requires users to enter more information than just a password. As part of the registration flow in the SIA portal, users are asked to add phone numbers which will be used as a second step of authentication. Users will get an SMS with unique code to confirm logging in.

If the phone number of a user needs to be changed there are 2 options:

  • Another admin user whose permissions allow them to make changes on the account can delete the user from the required account and then create it again. As part of the new registration procedure the phone number is requested again.

  • If deleting the user is not possible, then you can contact support and request the change. Please send an email to asvsupport@akamai.com and the Service Desk team will manage it.
